Maintenance Technician

Burlington Capital Properties is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in Trotwood, Ohio. We are looking for a dependable, customer-focused individual who takes pride in their work and is committed to providing quality service to our residents. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving maintenance challenges, working independently, and contributing to a well-maintained community.

Schedule

  • Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • On-call rotation every other week for after-hours maintenance emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform interior and exterior repairs to apartment homes, common areas, buildings, and grounds.
  • Complete apartment turns and prepare vacant units for new residents.
  • Diagnose and repair HVAC systems, appliances, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and other building maintenance issues.
  • Respond to maintenance service requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Inspect completed work and coordinate with outside contractors as needed.
  • Maintain the maintenance shop, equipment, and supplies in a clean and organized manner.
  • Assist with grounds maintenance, seasonal duties, and snow removal when necessary.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with company policies and applicable safety regulations.
  • Build positive relationships with residents while providing exceptional customer service, including serving a senior resident population.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Minimum two years of apartment maintenance or related maintenance experience.
  • HVAC Certification required.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC systems, appliance repair, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with residents, vendors, and fellow team members.
  • Experience working with or providing excellent customer service to a senior population is preferred.
