Maintenance Technician

Burlington Capital Properties is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team supporting the Cottages of Martinsburg in Martinsburg, West Virginia. We are looking for a dependable, customer-focused individual who takes pride in maintaining apartment homes and community grounds while providing exceptional service to our residents.
Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday. Participation in an on-call rotation for evenings and weekends is required.
Essential Responsibilities
- Complete maintenance service requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Prepare vacant apartments for new residents by completing make-ready repairs and inspections.
- Perform general maintenance including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, drywall, and other building repairs.
- Inspect and maintain community buildings, amenities, grounds, and common areas to ensure a clean, safe, and attractive environment.
- Monitor the condition of laundry facilities, playgrounds, and other shared spaces, completing repairs as needed.
- Coordinate with and inspect work completed by outside contractors.
- Maintain an organized, safe, and well-stocked maintenance shop.
- Communicate regularly with the Property Manager regarding service requests, apartment turns, maintenance projects, and supply needs.
- Help monitor maintenance expenses and use company resources responsibly.
- Follow all company policies and applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations.
- Participate in community events and other property initiatives as requested.
- Participate in the property's on-call rotation to respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of maintenance experience or a related skilled trade required.
- Previous apartment maintenance experience preferred.
- EPA Universal Certification required.
- HVAC certification preferred.
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while providing excellent customer service.
