Maintenance Technician- Martinsburg, WV

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

$1000 SIGN ON BONUS

Burlington Capital Properties is currently reviewing applications for a Maintenance Technician position to serve our Cottages of Martinsburg and Washington Mews communities. We are seeking a qualified individual who takes pride and ownership in the work they perform and can provide friendly, quality service that our residents deserve.

This full-time position requires availability Monday through Friday, with on-call rotation on evenings and weekends (on-call schedule to be discussed during interviews).

DUTIES

  • Perform all interior and exterior repairs to maintain apartments, common areas, buildings and grounds per established procedures.
  • Regularly communicate with supervisor as to status of service requests, make ready units, etc.
  • Complete vacant units to make ready status per established procedures.
  • Inspect all work performed by outside contractors.
  • Inspect and/or perform grounds maintenance ensuring high level curb appeal.
  • Continually monitor budgeted maintenance expenses.
  • Ensure that all Federal, State and County Health and Safety Codes, Laws and Standards are followed.
  • Regularly inspect laundry facilities, common area rest rooms, playgrounds, etc. to ensure proper functioning and cleanliness.
  • Maintain maintenance shop in a neat and orderly manner at all times.
  • Participate in resident functions as requested by Management.
  • Maintenance team members may be required to be “on call”.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record required.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in maintenance or equivalent field required.
  • Prior apartment maintenance experience preferred.
  • HVAC Certification preferred
  • EPA Universal Certification required
  • Working knowledge in plumbing, electrical, and general building trades is required.

Hiring Bonus: The hiring bonus is paid in two increments: $500 after 30 days of employment and $500 after 90 days of employment.
