Maintenance Technician

Burlington Capital Properties is now accepting applications for the Maintenance Technician position at UNMC Residences, a 235-Unit new construction community.
We take pride in providing an exceptional living experience for our residents and are seeking a motivated maintenance professional with experience in repairs, customer service, and property upkeep. As a member of our maintenance team, you will play a key role in preserving the appearance, functionality, and value of our community while delivering outstanding service to residents.
Schedule:
Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Rotating on-call schedule for after-hours and weekend emergency maintenance.
Essential job functions include:
- Perform interior and exterior repairs to maintain apartment homes, common areas, buildings, and grounds according to established procedures.
- Complete service requests in a timely and professional manner while regularly communicating progress with the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Prepare vacant apartment homes for occupancy in accordance with established make-ready standards.
- Inspect completed work performed by outside contractors to ensure quality and compliance.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to maintain the property's appearance, safety, and curb appeal.
- Assist with warranty management for the newly constructed community by identifying warrantable items, documenting issues, submitting warranty claims, coordinating with vendors, and verifying that repairs are completed to company standards.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local health and safety regulations.
- Regularly inspect common areas to ensure they remain clean, safe, and fully operational.
- Participate in resident events and community activities as requested by management.
- Participate in the property's rotating on-call schedule for emergency maintenance.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record required.
- HVAC certification preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in maintenance or equivalent field required.
- Working knowledge in plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, and general building trades is required.
- Ability to follow directives and work with minimum supervision.
- Must have basic understanding of the English language and be able to communicate effectively.
- Ability to interact positively with residents, employees, vendors and the general public.
